Skeleton 1832 Wall Clock
We created the Automaton Wall Clock series getting inspired not only by old mechanical wrist watches which gear motors seem to us real works of art but mechanical toys which were quite popular among the rich in XVIII in France. The gears in this set are decorative and dont move. For those who like to observe the motion we have another set of wall clocks with all moving gears which is called Automaton Bite Series.
A skeleton watch is a mechanical watch, in which all of the moving parts are visible through either the front of the watch, the back of the watch or a small cut outlining the dial.
True 'skeletonization' also includes the trimming away of any non-essential metal on the bridge, plate, wheel train or any other mechanical part of the watch, leaving only a minimalist 'bare' skeleton of the movement required for functionality. Often, the remaining thinned movement is decorated with engraving. This can be with or without a dial face that allows the user to see through to the movement.
Our wooden clock is made of many layers of Baltic birch, painted wood stain and covered with protective acrylic glass. Handcrafted galvanized brass screws are used in the clock.
