Greenwich Mean Time 24 Hour Wall Clock
This wall clock Greenwich Mean Time is made of several layers of wood, woodstained and painted high quality acrylic paint. The front elements of the clock are decorated with detailed and intricate engraving. Stainless steel elements are used in the construction of this clock model.
Natural rustic colors of this unique handcrafted wooden wall clock with 24 hour clock face will make a perfect match for any modern space that pretends to be a vintage one.
While making the design of a new clock we were inspired by the Shepherd Gate Clock which is mounted on the wall outside the gate of the Royal Greenwich Observatory building in Greenwich, Greater London. The clock, an early example of an electric clock, was a slave mechanism controlled by electric pulses transmitted by a master clock inside the main building. The network of master and slave clocks was constructed and installed by Charles Shepherd in 1852. The clock by the gate was probably the first to display Greenwich Mean Time to the public, and is unusual in using the 24-hour analogue dial.
This model has an extra minor clock face with a separate second hand.
Upon request the clock can be personalized with a text engraving, which will neatly supplement the look of the clock face.
