We are a bit of vagabonds and travellers inside. For us nothing can be compared with seeing, touching, smelling and tasting new places, experiencing them and exploring roles which the place kindly offers. Through the things we create we want to share several most significant cities of the USA and Europe which have not only rich history but important personal meaning.
The name "Paris" is derived from its early inhabitants, the Celtic Parisii tribe. The city's name is not related to the Paris of Greek mythology. Paris is often referred to as The City of Light, both because of its leading role during the Age of Enlightenment, and more literally because Paris was one of the first European cities to adopt gas street lighting. In the 1860s, the boulevards and streets of Paris were illuminated by 56,000 gas lamps.
The hands motion is complemented by the movement of 3 gears each of which is an AA battery operated. The mirror on the background adds some volume to the clock and amplifies the movement effect, transforming the clock into a kinetic installation.
Upon request the clock can be personalized with a text engraving, which will neatly supplement the look of the clock face.
