Automaton 1456 Melting Wall Clock
This big wall clock Melting Automaton 1456 is made of several layers of wood, woodstained and painted high quality acrylic paint and a piece of acrylic mirror. The front elements of the clock are decorated with detailed and intricate engraving. Stainless steel elements and copper coated screws are used in the construction of this clock model.
While making the design of a new clock we were inspired by The Persistence of Memory which is a painting by artist Salvador Dali and one of his most recognizable works. The well-known piece introduced the image of the soft melting pocket watch. It epitomizes Dali's theory of "softness" and "hardness", which was central to his thinking at the time. But Dali himself said that the soft watches were inspired by the surrealist perception of a Camembert melting in the sun.
Upon request the clock can be personalized with a text engraving, which will neatly supplement the look of the clock face.
